Background of Hands-On Math

There are three topics that are designed to introduce Hands-On Math.

The first is about the importance of models in Science and Engineering. Different types of models are presented as are some of their applications

The second covers some of the History of Modeling, from the Differential Analyzer in 1931, though post WW2 to present day modeling at NASA with Analogue and Digital Computers, to modeling with the Spreadsheet.

The third summarizes the simplified way used in Hands-On of viewing and treating curve fitting, approximating, optimization, minimization and solving for unknowns, as one and the same process.
